Facilitating Growth
Sauk County’s population grew from 65,920 in 2023 to 66,070 in 2024, and demand for housing is on the rise as people are seeing the value of living here. We’re meeting the moment by working to provide diverse options for both new residents and those who have always called Sauk County home.
In Sauk Prairie, for example, the largest housing investment in the city’s history is underway, with nearly 40 acres allocated to a residential development project. A substantial segment of the project is dedicated to affordable housing, with six apartment buildings where rents will be locked in to below-market rates for 10 years. Also in the works: five luxury apartment buildings, 60 condos, a child care center and a senior living facility.
